Pat Burgener lands world’s first switch backside triple cork 1440!

WOW. So who can honestly say they saw this coming? The triple cork revolution continues, and this time the goods are delivered by a relatively unknown Swiss rider by the name of Pat Burgener.

Pat, who took the dubious honour of finishing joint last in slopestyle at the recent Winter X-Games Europe, was aiming to stomp a few end-of-season bangers for a shoot at his home resort of Crans Montana. Frontside 10, cab 10, cab 12 and switch backside double cork 12 were all duly ticked off, even as the slushy kicker started to melt in the intense heat. Knowing there wasn’t much time, Pat started to give the triple a go, and came agonisingly close to stomping it. Then on one run everything lined up perfectly for Pat and he rode away, hands in the air, from a trick that no-one else has ever done. And he’s only 16. Sixteen years old….

Frontside triple cork, check. Backside triple cork, check. Now we’ve got a switch backside double cork. So who’s going to be the first to stomp the cab?
