Construction and Materials
While the Slush Slasher certainly doesn’t feature as many of the A-Grade NASA-worthy materials as something like the Mega Merc, it still packs a pretty decent punch in the materials department. Pop the hood and you’ll find an FSC Certified dual wood core, mellow biax fibreglass weave with CAPiTA’s Magic Bean Resin and full steel edges.
Like we said, not the creme de la creme, but the mix of more simple ingredients work with the playful nature of the Slush Slasher. We think this is part of the genius with this board, CAPiTA haven’t tried to make it something it’s not, and as such they’ve not only kept the price down, but allowed the Slush Slasher to retain its fun personality.
Takin’ it back to the 80’s baby! Like an old cruiser skateboard, the Slush Slasher uses an Inlaid Alloy Tail Skid Plate. It’s a double whammy- it looks cool as hell, but also reinforces the area for added durability when you’re tail bonking and skidding.

Roundup
Look, we’re fully aware that the Slush Slasher is probably a bit too mellow for full gas charging, but on the whole it can do a bit of everything and do it pretty damn well. And more than that, it’s just fun (and let’s be honest, by today’s standards it’s reasonably priced, too). You might not be breaking the land speed record any time soon, but there’s more to life than skin tight speed suits and F1-esque sintered bases.
Pros:
- Super wide for really deep carves and even deeper powder
- FUN!!
Cons:
- It ain’t exactly versatile. Then again, that’s probably a ‘Pro’ in this case
Tester’s Verdict
Mike Brindley – Videographer, Whitelines
“I’ve wanted to test out a Slush Slasher for a long time, and this thing definitely didn’t disappoint. In fact it was so bluddy fun that I almost failed to remember I was meant to be testing it.
The way you can wheelie this thing at high speed in slush is both uncanny and thoroughly enjoyable, encouraging you to fling your arms back and ride like the kind of lunatic that would make Alta resort residents defile their undies. It’s amazing how one board can so completely embody the Spring Break spirit, and, in a very Ronseal kind of way, ‘do exactly what it says on the tin’.
The nose is nice and soft, there’s plenty of control between the feet, and you just want to throw up spray at every opportunity with that tail. I had the perfect sunny/slushy day for it, but there are few situations where I can imagine having a bad time on this board!”

Corey Smith – Founder and designer of the CAPiTA Spring Break Line
“Slush Slasher 2.0 is the evolution of the Ultimate Fun Board. Our goal is to add high performance vibes to the iconic Slasher shape. We drastically deepened the side cut for hard-carving, mellowed out the nose height, and added a subtle crescent shape to the V-tail. The result is a refined shape that’s fun and zippy to keep the Partyboarding going all day long!”
