This Aussie brand has been around since 2010 but only now making their first appearance in the Whitelines Buyer’s Guide. Yuki Threads stands for social and environmental responsibility, and quality snowboard outerwear and their Northbound Bibs are a fine example of the brand’s core values.

The Northbounds thrive within the resort – whether it’s on the piste, in the park, or on the occasional backcountry adventure these things deliver. Made out of 100% recycled fabric, Yuki Threads are basically dressing you in a bunch of recycled plastic bottles (in a good way). Sounds a bit bizarre, we know, but we assure you that the green fingered Doris known as Mother Nature will find it very appealing indeed.

In order for you to stay dry on the slopes, a minimum waterproof rating of 5K is a must – meaning the 15K rating of the bib will do a fine job, and then some, when it comes to keeping the elements out. The eco-friendly DWR coating combined with the fully taped seams adds to the pant’s waterproofness, while the 15K breathability and inner leg vents mean you stay cool on the inside too.

As for their comfort, the knees have been tailored with an ergonomic fit, making it easier for you to bend. The elastic shoulder straps have also got length adjusters, so you can adjust them according to your liking. Updated for this season is the zippers on the sides which make them easier to get in and out of (great if you’re in a hurry).

Yuki Threads is a proud member of 1% for the planet, meaning they donate 1% of all their sales to an environmental grassroots organisation of their choosing. All the fabrics and fill in the Northbound bib pants are also bluesign approved.

Ethically manufactured, the Yuki Threads Northbound bib is a good investment if you’re looking to follow a path into a more sustainable future (aka the good path).

The model in the photo is 5’10” (178cm) tall and wearing size L.
