YES! Long standing kings of the hill, the YES crew have been hard at work creating some super radical boards for your pleasure. The fan-favourite Jackpot employs a completely new shape, utilising a blunt tip and tail to reduce swing weight, an updated mid-bite profile and a wider overall surface area. Still relatively new to the circuit the Typo graphic pays homage to your favourite snowboarder’s favourite snowboarder- JP Solberg, his iconic ender for Transcendence blew minds when it debuted, and still makes me tingle.

Basic in name only, the Yes Basic proves that you don’t have to drop stacks of cash to get an awesome snowboard. It features their underbite profile, which essentially splits the sidecut of the board into 3 sections, and focuses your body weight into zones that initiate, hold and release your turns. A true twin shape, paired with a softer flex and a cam-rock profile allow for a board that isn’t gonna kick your arse while you’re still trying to find your feet, but will still stomp all over the mountain no matter how pro you think you are.

Heavy hitting for the ladies too, YES have once again brought the sauce with the HEL snowboard, when you’re getting constant feedback from backcountry boss Helen Schettini you’re bound to create a board that slays all over the hill. With a directional twin profile, bamboo core and underbite outline the Hel is always top of my to-buy list.

New for 2019 the Hybrid is looking bang tidy. A mash up of the iconic YES 420 and YES PYL, the Hybrid is bound to be blowing minds soon enough. Taking the shorter and wider approach of the 420, and combining this with the tapered underbite of the PYL gives the board a super surfy feel, but with rock solid edge hold and carving ability.

The 20/20 has been treated to a complete face lift, and boy does she look good. Using the mind boggling powder hull shape, which utilises the movement of the snow to its advantage, harnessing the power of lift and draft in the nose and tail respectively. With an aggressive midbite, the board still retains piste performance despite looking so out of place out of the deep stuff. Coreless tech draws its inspiration from designs of the 60’s and looks super trippy, but essentially removing the wood from the powder hull got rid of the traditional drawbacks of working with wood, and allowed the Yes crew to create a truly innovative shape. They also redefined the concave in the nose and tail, and have essentially pulled the hull away from the edges of the board to improve its predictability, whilst still holding onto the mythical float of the 20/20.
