A few weeks back Whitelines was invited out to Hafjell, Norway, to witness snowboarding’s finest compete for X Games gold in Big Air, Slopestyle and our personal favourite – The Knuckle Huck.
On top of the mind-blowing snowboard performances that we were blessed with throughout the whole weekend, we also got to sit down with some of our favourite athletes – Rene Rinnekangas, Sven Thorgren, Jamie Anderson, Stale Sandbech, Torgeir Bergrem, Marcus Kleveland and Fridge.
“I broke my ankle like two, three, months before I started filming for it, and it never got too good so I kind of filmed the whole project with a broken ankle”
First up in our ‘behind the scenes’ edits we caught up with X Games Real Snow contestant Rene Rinnekangas and X Games Aspen Big Air bronze medallist Sven Thorgren. Rene lets us in on how it was to film for his first X Games real snow while Sven fills us in on ‘Sven’s Dreamyard’.
“I broke my ankle like two, three, months before I started filming for it, and it never got too good so I kind of filmed the whole project with a broken ankle” – Rene Rinnekangas.
We also got the scoop on which one of the boys is more likely to get arrested, go to bed at 9 o’clock and end up spending their night crowd surfing.
Keep your eyes open for the next ‘X Games behind the scenes’ edit with Jamie Anderson – dropping soon.
While you’re at it, make sure to check out Rene’s full part in X Games Real Snow!
