Aimee Fuller made history on Friday by becoming the first woman ever to land a double backflip in competition.
Having landed a run with a single version of the trick, she went for the double on her second and third runs in the X Games Women’s slopestyle final.
She couldn’t hold onto it first time, but on her third and final run, she stomped it, riding away with a big grin on her face.
The standard of the women’s competition was so high that even with the double, the run wasn’t enough to get the Brit on the podium.
But she was pretty stoked to finish in 6th and as she told us herself, she was just happy to have landed it in a contest.
I was pumped to land a run and get the dub in there. I was super-nervous so I was struggling with the most basic trick – my set up before the dub! It feels good to be riding with such and insanely talented group of girls. Next time I just need to get the 7 in there!
Sounds like she’s already looking forward to stomping the next one.
