Pat Moore is certainly no rookie. He’s been riding backcountry for yonks, has had countless video parts and slays it in the streets as well – his recent X Games Real snow backcountry part has just made it into the final four and predictably, is full of hammers.
But even Pat has a thing or two to learn from his honorary big bro Travis Rice, particularly when it comes to learning to ride f*ck-off spines in Alaska.
Of course, like all big brothers should do to their little brothers, Travis drops Pat right in at the deep end, setting him off on the legendary Wizard of Oz Face first ridden by Jeremy Jones in The Art of Flight. Thankfully, their guide was there to fill Pat with his words of encouragement…
Don’t f*ck up or you will die…
Pat handles it just fine of course, but it’s when Travis drops in that we get a real sense of just how exceptional a rider he is. He stomps a massive drop into the spine before meandering and slashing all over the face – at a blistering pace we might add.
There are very few, if any, riders in the world who could exude the same confidence on a face as gnarly as The Wizard, and the fact that he is in a position to coach a fellow world-class rider in his stomping ground is another testament to his larger-than-life ability.
