With a few southern hemisphere resorts such as Perisher and The Remarkables now open for snowboarding and skiing, the winter season is all set to properly kick off down under in Oz and Kiwi land. And if this video of a train getting freshies and faceshots for days along Arthur’s Pass in New Zealand last week is anything to go by there was a shit-ton of snow to be had as well.
How rad is this though? New Zealand doesn’t usually get all that much snow at lower elevations but when it does, rather than letting it more or less grind the entire transport system to a panicked and frustrated halt, they just plough straight through it like Jonah Lomu ploughs through people. Watch and learn National Rail!
Saying that, do we even care if the trains are running or not when there’s snow around…?
