Last year, the Timeline series followed French freeriding nutcase Xavier de le Rue as he scoured the globe in search of steep lines and deep snow (actually sometimes he didn’t even need snow, just bullet-proof ice). This first episode for 2011/12 looks like more of the same, only so far Xavier hasn’t had to leave his backyard, because as we all know Europe has been pounded with snow recently. With much of the Alps stormbound, he and his brother Victor, along with Swiss miss Anne-Flore Marxer, set about rapelling into couloirs, driving through secret avalanche tunnels and sliding down wallrides (yep, Xavier does freestyle!). This one goes out to all our powder-loving brethren.
