TSA’s Best Burton Gear For 2017/18

We visited the folks at The Snowboard Asylum to see what they rate for this winter

When it comes to picking new snowboard gear, it’s always a good idea to visit your nearest retailer.

Aside from the no-brainer that is the chance to actually get the stuff in your hands and get a proper look at it, there’s also the advantage of having knowledgeable, passionate sales staff on hand to talk you through the latest wares. If they didn’t rate it, they wouldn’t stock it, so you’re more likely to be on to a winner than if you just took a relative stab in the dark online.

“We popped into The Snowboard Asylum to get their take on some of the fresh new gear that’s just come in for the 2017/18 season”

With that in mind, we popped into The Snowboard Asylum to get their take on some of the fresh new gear that’s just come in for the 2017/18 season. Given their long-standing partnership with Burton (they were the first shop to import the brand into the UK), it’s no surprise their shelves stacked with the big B’s latest wares.

Here are a few of their favourites:

Burton Instigator Snowboard 2017-2018

TSA say: “Built around a state-of-the-art directional chassis, with a 5mm taper from nose to tail, the Burton Instigator has been designed to make progressing your riding skills simpler and easier.

The taper (which is a 5mm width difference between the front and back of the board) helps makes turns more predictable, reduces the chance of catching an edge, but more importantly it gives you the confidence to push harder and that’s what’s going to take your riding to the next level.”

Burton Kilroy Process Snowboard 2017-2018

TSA say: “Aimed unashamedly at freestyle riders, this all terrain board has been designed to turn the whole mountain into a playground. Whether searching out side hits on the piste, hitting back country kickers in the pow or lapping the Park, this unique snowboard has it all licked, and, it still rips when you just want to go cruise with your mates.”

Burton Genie Snowboard 2017-2018

TSA say: “If you’re new to snowboarding and are looking to buy your first set up the Burton Genie could just be the board for you.
