Snowcat. In snowboard culture, the word itself is a conspicuous portmanteau, an amalgamation of the words ‘snow’ and ‘caterpillar’, referencing a giant machine with the ability to shift huge piles of snow. Monster Energy’s latest edit, Snowcats also, in part, references a giant machine: a global network of female riders that dominate the game, each armed with the ability to shift paradigms, alter perceptions and smash boundaries.
Arguably the strongest women’s crew in the game, the Monster ladies rep every sphere of snowboarding, the best in the bizz in their respective fields. Jill Perkins holds it down for the street squad with tech rail tricks and urban finesse, Jamie Anderson is in a league of her own when it comes to Slopestyle, Annika Morgan pushes the boat out every time and still has one of the best knuckle front flips we’ve seen, Chloe Kim is the most innovative and envelope pushing woman in halfpipe, Zoi showed just how capable she is outside of the confines of the resort at this year’s Natural Selection, and at just 16 years old Kokomo already has a bag of tricks deeper than the Mariana Trench.
This is a no holds barred; no expense spared 7 minutes of pure stoke, a cinematic ‘come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough’. Special shout out to Jamie Anderson’s lofty front 3 / bucket hat combo, Jill Perkin’s silky rodeos and Kokomo stomping the absolute shit out of her crippler.
