Sims’ grizzled mountain man John Jackson is a certified ripper, and as such he needs a snowboard that can keep up with his powerful and progressive riding. Enter the Sims Vanish- a piste and powder charger built for the deepest days and the steepest lines.
If the resort’s gotten a fresh blanket overnight then you’re in luck, when you get the Vanish into deeper snow the tapered directional shape and setback stance do all the heavy lifting. The big, wide nose sails across the top of the snowpack, with the elongated narrow tail pencilling off and sinking down, driving power from the back leg for fat slashes and roosters.
“With the stiffer wood grain holding energy through the arc of your turn”
The Vanish isn’t just for fluffy champagne powder though, it’s a veritable behemoth on the hardpack as well. When you get the Vanish up onto its edges, the camber profile powers up the whole sidecut, with the stiffer wood grain holding energy through the entire arc of your turn. The narrower waist width gives you tons of manoeuvrability transitioning from edge to edge when you’re tipping and gripping.
A single 40mm wide basalt stringer runs the full length of the Vanish, working to dampen out vibrations and soak up excess chatter at high speed, and you’ll be getting some serious speed thanks to the high-density sintered base. Whether its blasting over cat tracks or hooning down mottled pistes, this little basalt badboy will save you from rattling out your fillings as you’re getting mach 10.
Sims use Directional Wave Form profiling, which mills the core and puts thicker zones by each insert pack. These zones stiffen the board directly underfoot, allowing you to drive power and boost the torsional response exactly where you need it.

While it’s definitely not the most versatile board in the Sims line up, the Vanish seeks out a certain kind of rider and plays to its strengths. If you’re into bombing hills, digging trenches and surfing pow then the Vanish could just be your ticket to ride.
