Our homies over at Onboard just posted the elusive video above which supposedly shows Shaun White stomping his first ever backside triple cork 1440 yesterday at Breckenridge, Colorado.
But is this actually him? The all-black, skinny outerwear is a good indication, as is the mega-wide stance. But it’s that fist pump at the end which is the dead giveaway. Yep, that’s Shaun alright.
It was only really a matter of time before this happened wasn’t it? After Shaun’s triumphant return to slopestyle at last year’s winter X-Games in Tignes where he casually rocked up and won both the halfpipe AND slopestyle event, the triple cork was pretty much the one trump card that the Horgmos, Toutants, McMorrises and Kadonos of this world still had over the ginger wonder. Not anymore by the looks of things. This year’s X-Games in Aspen, nevermind the Sochi Olympics in 2014, just got rather interesting indeed…
Here’s another angle of the trick:
And while we’re on the topic of Shaun White, go and check out this video that we posted of him yesterday. It’s got his enormous pipe method in it as well as a better look at one of the the most ridiculous outfits we’ve seen him in yet.
