Salomon Kiana Boa 2020-2021 Women’s Snowboard Boots Review

  • PRICE: $350
  • SIZES: 22-27.5
  • FLEX: 4/5
  • LACING SYSTEM: Boa

Why we chose the Salomon Kiana Boa Snowboard Boots: This is all terrain versatility, in a pretty as a peach package.

New in the range for the 2020/2021 season, the Kiana Dual Boa takes over from the Focus Boa in the women’s range. The flex matches it up with a more aggressive rider, who’s looking for instant response and powerful energy transfer, but not at the expense of their day to day comfort.

This medium flex boot has been designed using Salomon’s Fit to Ride construction. It’s Salomon’s promise to it’s riders that the boot is just as good to ride at the end of the season as it was when it came out the box on day 1. A test of both comfort, longevity and durability.

The new liner materials offer up a boot that’s both 10% lighter and 10% more compact. The smaller frame is ideal for those with bigger feet who suffer the slings and arrows of dastardly toe drag.

It’s in the name, really. This boots main feature is the dual boa lacing system. Designed with combo lacing for a more precise fit. The upper dial on the tongue adjusts the flex of the boot, as you move from your heels to your toes. The lower dial which is on the side of the boot secures the forefoot so as not to move around in your boot.

If you’re someone who likes your boots tight or you find yourself constantly adjusting, the Dual Boa system gives you quick access for those coffee breaks when you wanna loosen everything off or park laps after lunch when you want to get back down to business. BOA come with a lifetime warranty, so rest assured they’re the absolute business.

“A full custom fit liner means you can have the boot heat moulded to your foot, coupled with a cushy Ortholite footbed”

Your boots are the most important bit of kit, they’re on your feet all season long. Salomon has designed the boot with maximum comfort in mind. A full custom fit liner means you can have the boot heat moulded to your foot, coupled with a cushy Ortholite footbed to really ensure it fits like a glove before you hit the slopes. Salomon use a super cool tech Heel Grip tech in the back of the boot, that grips on to the fibres in your sock, stopping it from sliding around and improving response.

The pink version of this boot does give it the old patchwork quilt feel but it also comes in stealthy black for all the ladies who prefer not to shrink it and pink it. If, like us, you’ve absolutely eaten it on a patch of ice in front of everyone walking across the carpark, you’ll be glad for the grippy rubber in the sole.

This coupled with a dampening EVA blend to absorb vibrations and reduce shock when you’re stomping your tricks in the park and the Salomon Kiana Dual Boa is a complete no brainer.
