Who Is The Salomon Ivy BOA SJ For?

These would be well suited to any freestyle aficionado looking for a reliable pair of kicks with a great, responsive feeling but enough flex to play around with grabs and presses.

That being said, all of that tech also means that they would be a great and forgiving all-mountain boot for any beginner / intermediate snowboarder that’s looking to improve their riding across the board.

Shell & Outsole

The Salomon Ivy Boa SJ’s have a sleek, lightweight design that’s freestyle orientated with a medium flex and speedy BOA lacing system so you can slacken or tighten your boots with ease.

The Feather sole is made up of EVA and contragrip rubber that’s super lightweight but offers a tonne of cushioning. Perfect for getting as high as possible in the park and not spanking your heels too hard when you come back down to earth.

Liner

One thing that sets Salomon apart is that all of their women’s boots are tailer made for women to provide a perfect fit rather than just sizing down their male counterparts. The custom fit liner is heat mouldable to ensure the best & most comfortable fit.

You’ll also find the BOA Str8jkt system tucked in here which is the crème de la crème of heel hold. It’s a little harness that sits over the front of your ankle and is pulled tight via the BOA dial on the outside of the boot to lock your heel into place. This results in not only a more reactive boot as you aren’t wasting valuable movement sliding your heel around but can also help prevent blisters and chafing.

The Ortholite C2 Footbed moulds to your feet for comfort but also helps to dampen out the ride and absorb some of those big impacts in the park to protect your feet and keep you riding all day long.

Roundup

Although pip’d as a great freestyle boot, these will definitely hold their own elsewhere on the mountain thanks to that middle of the road flex. The heel hold in that BOA str8jkt will make sure they’re reactive when you need them to be, but there’s still plenty of play if you want to get creative on some features. You can’t go wrong really!
