Although we really want you to read on, almost everything you need to know is in the name for this board. Built for hucking it through the park and slicing through whatever is put in front of it (air and snow, not rails… please don’t try that) like a knife. It’s a solid choice for the park and any sidehits you find on your way there.

Who Is The Salomon Huck Knife For?

Any rider looking to progress in the park needs look no further than the Huck Knife. Super playful with enough pop and bite to send you skywards but enough forgiveness to let you get away with sloppy landings as you climb the freestyle learning curve.

It’s got a tasty camber profile that’s ideal for the jump line and a gentle, medium flex that lends itself to jibbing with ease.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

Fully committed to the park party the Huck Knife has a true twin shape so that you can commit to your promise of spending 50% of the day riding switch to justify that duck footed stance.

Jokes aside, true twin is the way to go for a park deck and will maximise your comfort landing and taking off in switch with a consistent flex and feel under both feet. The quad camber profile rides like a traditional camber but has a slightly more aggressive section underfoot to add a little boost to your pop.

The smidge of early rise rocker before the nose & tail also helps to take away some of the brutality a full camber board can sometimes deliver and give a little more play and forgiveness when dialling in a new trick.

The nose and tail are blunted to help it cut through the air in your spins more like a knife (obviously) than a spoon and are slightly detuned down to 2degrees rather than the 3degree bevel between your feet. This helps you to safely lock onto rails but still hold your edge when setting up on a booter.

The EQ Rad sidecut uses a blend of shorter radius underfoot and straight lines in the centre, nose & tail to make turn initiation a doddle.

Construction and Materials

A good park board should be built with a few things in mind: lightweight, poppy, a need for speed and strong enough for you to fuck up and not snap in half or have edges peeling off like that bit of skin down the side of your fingernail.

And that’s what Salomon have aimed for here, the Popster core shape is designed to feel snappy and responsive underfoot and the Aspen Select Core wood is hand selected to be strong and lightweight.

A sintered base ensures you have enough speed to clear the knuckle while carbon strips distribute your energy down the sidewalls to where you need it the most as part of Salomon’s Slingshot sidewalls to give you solid edge control.

Roundup

The huck knife is a great choice for any discerning park rat out there, designed to feel super playful with a medium flex and a Quad camber profile so that you can pop, lock and progress your riding.

If you’ve already got your core skills dialled in and are looking to progress into advanced park riding then check out the Huck Knife Pro. The Huck Knife’s stiffer, more reactive older brother for higher consequence riding.
