Straps and Highbacks
Rome came up with the AuxTech straps now used by several brands for their top of the line binders, so it’s no surprise to see them here – at both ankle and toe. The technology consists of a plastic mesh with tiny in-built hinges that expands evenly around your boot. They’re lightweight, strong and comfortable. With Rome’s PivotMount Max system, the ankle strap can also be positioned in no fewer than 64 different ways across your foot. That’s a lot of potential faffing, so just be sure to dial it in at home – not when your buddies are waiting at the top of the lift!
The highback is a little beefier than some in the range, constructed from a polystrand composite that’s stiffer and more responsive than straight-up nylon. Edge control feels instantaneous.

Roundup
The Black Label bindings take a freestyle-oriented chassis and turn up the response level via some weapons grade components. Even with that AsymWrap they will probably feel too aggressive for the average weekend warrior, but if you’re an experienced park ripper that demands pinpoint edge control on the pro line, or a speed freak who wants to bring some style to their turns, then Rome’s flagship binders promise F1 performance with a price tag to match.
