At Whitelines we’re getting pretty excited about the upcoming Olympic halfpipe competition, especially given the standard of halfpipe riding we’re seeing at the moment. We’re also pretty excited about seeing Team GB repping Britain at the games – with Ben Kilner, Lesley McKenna, Kate Foster and Zoe Gillings all looking likely to book their spots in Vancouver, we’ve got a good sized contingent from our snow-starved isle heading over there.
We’ve organised a series of 10 podcasts that will follow the progress of this British contingent as they make their way to the Games. Ben and the rest will be at the Burton European Open this week, testing their skills against some of the biggest names in the sport, so you can look forward to a nice slice of exclusive UK action from the contest.
But to kick things off, our filmer, Stewart Monk, has put together this sweet little teaser featuring former Olympian Dan Wakeham – the mentor figure known as theCaptain – at the O’Neill Evolution Halfpipe Comp in Davos, Switzerland. Dan talks to GB veteran and halfpipe judge James Stentiford about the Games, before showing that he’s still got game himself with a lovely little halfpipe run.
