Let’s be real, and I mean really, really real, the difference in taste between full fat and semi-skimmed milk is pretty fucking minimal. And unless you’re chugging it straight from the bottle like a thirsty dad on a hot summer day, you’re not going to tell the difference once you’ve unloaded half a box of Lucky Charms into it are you?

Enter the Ride C-6 bindings. The slightly cheaper, composite version of the Ride A-6 binding features all the same tech and trimmings but swaps the all-aluminium baseplate for a composite chassis instead. This opens up the bindings to both those looking to save a few quid, but also anyone that prefers the slightly softer response.

Who Is The Ride C-6 For?

If you’re after a truly all-mountain binding then look no further. Perfect for anyone intermediate or above, if you’re having fun in the park, on the piste & in the powder and don’t want the hassle of multiple setups then these are a great choice.

Baseplate

A solid, high quality aluminium heelcup is paired with a fibreglass reinforced nylon base to create a light chassis with a little more horizontal flex and a damper feel than the aluminium equivalent.

The C-6 uses the “performance” version of Ride’s composite chassis which, in short, means that 20% of the fibreglass in the baseplate uses short-glass to add a little more responsiveness to the binding.

Straps and Highbacks

To keep the weight down and maximise durability the toe strap features a no-nonsense minimalist design and wraps snuggly around your toes to keep them in place.

Similarly the ankle strap is quite simply made up of 2 components; a load bearing front piece to keep your foot locked in, while a small amount of additional padding is added behind to keep the fit snug and comfy.

Ride are well known for their love of urethane, and who can blame them. It helps to keep the damp, damp. So just like their patented Slimewalls the Slimeback highbacks are packed with urethane. The clever thing about their construction is that, as well as keeping the bindings damp, they have more flex laterally than vertically. This means you won’t lose any reactiveness in your pop, but have plenty of flex to tweak the day away.

Roundup

Medium flex with a reactive, performance composite baseplate makes these bindings a great choice for anyone looking for an all-mountain binding with a slightly damper feel than their aluminium siblings.

Or anyone looking for 99% of the tech at 80% of the price of the A-6…Big up the semi-skimmed posse.
