Co-founder of DC Shoes, Ken Block, has tragically passed away at the age of 55 after a snowmobiling accident in Utah. In a statement made on Instagram, Hoonigan Industries called him “a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband.” Our thoughts go out to his wife, three children and the rest of his loved ones.
Almost 30 years after its inception, DC stands firm as one of the premium brands in snowboarding. Ken’s dedication to the sport and his passion for riding helped to steer DC as they navigated the waters early on, allowing them to amass a first-rate pro team and bring forth an ever growing collection of both hard and soft goods.
Ken was the brains behind some of the biggest brands in the industry, but his intelligent and innovative entrepreneurship was just one facet of his extraordinary life. Ken’s legacy extends to every corner of action sports, and his impact has been felt by adrenaline junkies all over the world. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite videos and moments to pay tribute and remember the legendary Ken Block. Rest easy Ken.
