Antti Autti is no stranger to the icy walls of the superpipe. Prior to the domination of the X-Games halfpipe comps by a certain red-headed whizz kid, Antti took the gold medal back in 2005 with back to back 1080’s (yep, before all of the double cork madness…) and to this day remains the only Euro to have ever laid hands on it. Since then he has been slowly retreating from the high-pressure world of competitive snowboarding and is now focusing his efforts on the much more laid back quest for powder. Last year he released a stellar movie called ‘Antiout’ and this year’s follow up, ‘Relate To It’ will hopefully continue the trend. No official teaser yet but we’ve heard that it’s currently on the cutting room floor so keep an eye out.
In the meantime, Antti has released this B-roll footage of some superpipe and powder shredding in Ruka, the snowboarding mecca of Northern Finland. What with all the urban teasers, summer camp footage and snowdome edits that characterise spring and summer snowboarding, it’s really refreshing to watch some footage of pipe riding from the middle of winter. Not to mention the epic pow section at the end – who knew they had powder days like that in Finland eh?
