Red Bull announced last week that they’ve begun filming their follow-up movie to the epic The Art of Flight and That’s It, That’s All with Travis Rice and the Brain Farm crew. This short vid shows the first day filming on location with the usual tension-building music and dramatic panorama shots key to any shred flick trailer.
So, what’s the title? We don’t know yet. Where are they headed? “The unknown”. What are they promising? Errrrrr…. “a film beyond your wildest expectations”. They’re clearly not giving away much about the film yet, but it’s pretty much guaranteed to have unfathomable amounts of money pumped into it, plenty of strategically placed sponsor shots, helicopters galore and, of course, some truly epic riding.
The one titbit of information they are giving us is that it will be filmed in 4K ultra high-definition, the latest way to visually delight viewer’s eyeballs. Apparently 4K gives you 8 million pixels compared to the measly 2 million pixels on HD movies (which calls into question how many more pixels can filmmakers pack in before our eyeballs explode…..)
So the good news is it looks like it’ll be pretty sick. The bad news? We’ve got to wait two years until we see it on our screens. So we won’t be holding our breathe then.
What do you think? How much further can Travis Rice and the Brain Farm crew push the limits of snowboard filmmaking? Let us know your thoughts below.
