Rocking a pair of joggers up the hill is slowly becoming the new norm. In order to stand out from the rest, Quiksilver is introducing the snowboard market to their Beater Pant. With a retro-styled green fabric placed over the knees, this product will provide you with both comfort and style points up on the hill.

Despite the relaxed street style look, the Beater Pant does rank high when it comes to tech too. With a 15K waterproofing, the pants rank relatively well on the waterproof scale (a bare minimum of 5K is expected from a pair of snowboard pants in order for them to be considered waterproof). Whether you’re planning to hike through some knee-deep powder or slam hard in a slushy park, these pants will do a very good job when it comes to keeping you dry.

It’s vital to keep in mind though that it isn’t just the pants ability to keep water out that matters. It’s also their ability to keep things dry on the inside that’s important.

A breathability rating of 10K means that these pants do a good job when it comes to pushing the sweat moisture from the inside out into the air at a reasonably fast speed. What this means is that you won’t have to worry about soaking in your sweat / getting cold from your sweat if you’re getting properly active.

When things do heat up, you can always go ahead and open up the mesh-lined vents to let in a nice bit of extra breeze. Lovely stuff.

A regular fit here means that you’ve got plenty of space to move around in. Not only does this equal comfort, but you’ve also got more space to layer up when things get cold – something which might come in handy since the pants aren’t insulated.
