Sustainability in the retail industry is a topic on which everyone has an opinion. The bottom line of it all, however, is that manufacturing billions of new single-use products is simply not sustainable in the long run. On the flip side though, we do need new clothes in a functioning society. This is why Picture Organic Clothing has taken it upon themselves to produce an eco-friendly membrane called Xpore that can be found in both their 3L Demain Jacket and Demain Pant.
Part of Picture’s Lab range, the Picture Organic Demain Jacket is the result of the brand’s constant innovation and focus on cutting-edge technology, quality, and sustainability. The Xpore membrane is the reason the jacket has its 25K waterproofing and 20K breathability (making it an eco-friendly, non-toxic, lightweight option for the backcountry).

The Xpore membrane is made with a recyclable polyolefin composition, with the nanoporous membrane construction being chemical-free. Picture’s also chosen to go with a PFC and solvent-free lamination. Eco-friendly membranes don’t come much more eco-friendly than this. Adding to the jacket’s overall eco score is the bio-sourced hard shell.
This is one of the most sustainable options on the snowboard outerwear market. It’s also an option that offers genuine performance quality. This 3-layer jacket comes with a 25K waterproof rating, making it a very good option for venturing out into the unknown in. The 20K breathability adds to the palpable sense that this jacket is made for exploring the backcountry.
As for features, the underarm vents add to the jacket’s breathability while the inner pockets are there to keep your valuables safe. The seams are also fully taped, whilst the YKK waterproof zippers won’t let any water in either.
If you’re looking for a good quality 3L shell jacket, that’s been produced to high sustainable standards, the Picture Organic Demain Jacket should definitely be on your shortlist. Picture is keen to use innovation, within snowboard outerwear, to take us all towards a more environmentally-sound future. This jacket is well worth the investment.
