2012 is a year to celebrate for O’Neill, as they mark their 60th anniversary. They’re kicking things off in style with the O’Neill Evolution in Davos, Switzerland. The event, consisting of a 5-star halfpipe and a 6-star slopestyle, runs from 2nd-7th January and is now one of the highlights of the TTR calendar. With an awesome set-up and over a hundred grand up for grabs, it’s little wonder that it attracts the likes of Jamie Anderson and Seb Toots. We’re told that the shapers are doing everything humanly possible to make the main kicker ‘triplecorkable’. Should be worth a watch to see if someone can be the first to stomp it in competition (and no, we’re not counting Torstein Horgmo’s X-Games huck)!
What’s also pretty special is the number of Brits signed up for this year’s event: Jamie Nicholls, Ben Kilner, Dan Wakeham, Lewis Courtier-Jones, India Stephenson, Sam Turnbull, Billy Morgan, Nathalie Silkstone and Ayla Theilding are all having a pop in 2012!
Then there’s Aimee Fuller. Last year she nabbed fifth place which, at the time, was her best result at a TTR event. Now that she’s winning the bleeding things, could she do even better this year? Find out for yourself in the first week of the new year. Don’t forget, you can watch the live feed at oneill.com/evolution/live.
