As our Video Editor Sam will attest to (among countless others), January is traditionally the month to be in Japan. But while many will pass through places like Niseko on their hunt for the finest fluffy powder around, not quite so high a number are fortunate enough to take a month and travel a thousand kilometres North to South, sampling Japanuary in its fullest.
Warren Munson and Josh Nisbet set out and became two of the lucky souls that get to do just that this winter – and the above follows them on their path from Niseko in Hokkaido to Nosazawa Onsen in the Chūbu region, stopping off in Rusutsu, Hakuba and Myoko Kogen along the way. Nicely shot and full of plenty of fuel for your own Japan frothing, here’s what one month in Japanese powder looks like.
