Why we chose the Oakley TC Stretchy Softshell Snowboard Pants: A softshell pant with a unique design that’s been designed to match the needs of a pro snowboarder.
For some years now Oakley has been stepping up their outerwear game by producing high-quality kit. As a result, we’ve seen plenty of pro snowboarders rocking not only their goggles but clothing too. This winter, Oakley’s teamed up with Stale Sandbech and is bringing us a collection where style meets tech, with the Oakley x Stale TC Stretchy Softshell Pants being a fine example of what the collection has got to offer.
As the first snowboarder to ever land a triple underflip 1260 and a regular at the podium, Stale Sandbech has proven himself to be one of the best snowboarders around (if anyone’s entitled to their signature line, it’s him).

By creating a unique design, every item from the Stale x Oakley collection is embellished by a Camo-like print (which on closer inspection turns out to be a mountain range from above) and a skull. As for the Stretchy Softshell pants, you can spot this camo-like design on the knees while the signature skull can be found on the right leg pocket zipper.
By choosing a softshell fabric, Oakley’s making the pants more stretchy and thus allowing for more room to move and tweak. This adds to the pants comfort too as the fabric isn’t restrictive. Softshell fabric is also much more rigid and creases less compared to hard shell, and on top of that, it doesn’t rustle, resulting in a ride that’s easier on the ears.
Another plus with the softshell pants is that as they’re made out of a woven fabric, they feel almost like a warm layer on top of your base-layer. The fabric is also very breathable, preventing you from overheating when picking up the pace.
