Why we chose the Oakley TC General 2L 10K Shell Stale Snowboard Jacket: Style meets functionality with a minimlaistic Scandi design.
For winter 2020/21 Oakley’s teamed up with Stale Sandbech to create a whole new signature line together with the Norwegian wonderchild. Everything from outer layers to mid-layers and accessories can be found within the range, including the Oakley x Stale TC General 2L 10K Shell Jacket.
Hailing from the land of the Vikings and known for his effortless style, Norwegian born Stale has teamed up with Oakley to create a simple yet stylish and technical collection for this winter. Designing a line to fit the needs of a top athlete, whilst adding their own personal twist to it, is probably at the top of the to-do list for quite a few snowboarders out there.

Whether you’re charging down the pistes or stomping massive kickers, you don’t want your jacket to be the reason for sacrificed speed or movement. The Oakley x Stale General 2L Shell Jacket is lightweight, thin and stretchy, meaning it won’t compromise on your riding while the performance fit ensures the jackets ability to move with you (without putting any strain on your movements).
A 2-layer shell is a slightly less technical option in comparison to a 3-layer jacket. Instead of having a liner bonded to the inner surface like with a 3L jacket, 2L jackets have a separate liner bonded to the face fabric to protect it. However, 2L jacket’s often come at a lower price point so that’s always something worth considering (money doesn’t grow on trees you know).
Whilst the membrane offers a waterproofing of 10K, ensuring a dry ride in the in-resort scenarios, the outer layer has also been treated with a DWR coating to increase the jacket’s ability to repel water. A DWR coating enables water to bead on your jacket and roll off, protecting the inner membrane from getting wet.
