NOW Vetta 2020-2021 Women’s Snowboard Bindings Review

  • Price: £200, $220
  • Sizes: S, M
  • Flex: 4/10
  • Entry System: Classic

Built for day to day use on the hill, the NOW Vetta is ideal as a mellow all-mountain ripper. Softer flexing and playful by nature it could happily serve you from your first day on the mountain all the way up to confident cruising. Although they sit on the cheaper end of the spectrum, the Vetta’s price is the only budget thing about them.

Rather than shoot up the Vetta full of expensive carbon and kevlar, the crew at NOW ensure response via their innovative SkateTech system. Functioning like the trucks of a skateboard, as you rock back and forth from edge to edge, the Hanger transfers your energy directly to the toe and heel edge.

Completely designed with women in mind, the Vetta uses the narrower Hanger 1.0 and a shorter highback to accommodate for smaller frames and feet. The Vetta is totally adjustable without the need for fiddly tools, you can change up the forward lean and the bushings in seconds. Switch out stiffer bushings when you’re looking for more power and response and the softer ones for cruising and mellow days.

New for this season, NOW have updated the toe strap to their 3D Contour design. It’s completely malleable to better form around the front of your boot for a snug and secure fit without having to crank down. The ankle strap is single injected EVA that requires zero stitching so there’s far less that can go wrong, again it moulds around your boot for a comfortable and locked in feel.

The Vetta’s come with 4×4 discs as standard but there are channel compatible version available via NOW’s website. They come in a super fresh mint green, OG Black and clean White to fit with every colour scheme.

Tester’s Verdict 2020/21

Stella PenttiWhitelines

“The NOW Vetta binding made my feet feel right at home. The comfort and women’s specific fit hugged my feet in a comfortable way, resulting in a ride that didn’t add any extra pressure on my feet and thus gave me the impression that these things could be ridden throughout a whole season without any major cramps in the feet. Of course, feet are different, but I’d rate the Vetta’s rather high in terms of comfort.

“These might not be for the freeride enthusiasts but work extremely well for anyone else as an everyday binding, no matter your level of riding”

The highback felt comfortable next to my calves and didn’t dig in in an uncomfortable way. It did also gave me the right amount of stability, whilst the NOW SkateTech made the bindings feel super responsive – an ideal combo whether you’re looking to cruise through the park or the through the resort.

These might not be for the freeride enthusiasts but work extremely well for anyone else as an everyday binding, no matter your level of riding.”

Tester’s Verdict 2019/20

Joy Dutchsnowboard-asylum.com

“The Vetta is a supremely comfortable pair of bindings that leaves no hot spots of pressure anywhere on your feet. The straps are really comfortable; I like them because they’re not too thick, so they are really malleable around the boot.

“The Skate-Tech kept every transition feeling very smooth”

The response and control that the Skate-Tech delivers is second to none, and it’s effortless to transfer the weight from edge to edge. It gives a very ‘rolly’ effect which I liked because it kept every transition feeling very smooth.”

Tester’s Verdict

“I found the Vetta bindings to be quite soft, which made them very comfortable for the feet. There was no cramping at all, which was really good considering I rode these for a whole day.

The downfall of the comfort is that the bindings are soft and light, which doesn’t really allow for fast riding. If you’re a light girl with a light board, these bindings will definitely not give you that extra speed, so if that’s what you’re looking for I would not recommend these.

But if speed is not your thing (or if you already have a heavy board) I’d say that the Now Vetta bindings provide for a very feet friendly ride.”
