Above: Drake’s Reload (a.k.a The King of Bindings)
Nestled in among the Italian Dolomites, Northwave started their days as a shoe manufacturing company, and started making snowboard boots in the early 90’s. It’s a well-known fact in the scene that Northwave boots are insanely comfortable, like little pillows for your feet, while you’re out riding pillows. Their unique speed lace system is one of the best out there, and is renowned for staying tight all day.
Drake came bursting onto the scene slightly later and started out making bindings and have since moved into snowboard manufacturing more recently. Being under the Northwave family umbrella has lent a helping hand to Drake in really establishing themselves in the community and expanding their reach.

Not sure about you, but I can be a massively lazy rider, especially after I’ve been a bit of a loose cannon the night before, so Drake have chucked us a bone with their Eazy-Entry binding system. A little mechanical component tucked into the ankle strap keeps it open as you’re skating along to allow for an easy placement of your boot into the baseplate but stops it from falling into the middle of your board as well, so not to worry about stomping down onto your strap as you’re riding a one footer. Easy access doesn’t have to be limited to St*p-Ons…
The Rusty Toothbrush crew are one of the dopest sets of riders out there at the moment, and their frontman Alex Stewart has been working with Drake and Northwave to really show the world what they’ve got to offer. We’re excited to see what they’ve got in store for us over the coming season.
