Nitro use their traction enhancing Vibram Ecostep outsole, made using up to 50% recycled rubber. To save on weight and to allow to boot to flex easier when walking, the midsole is made of EVA Foam, which also acts as a partial cushioning. The real magic though, is in the heel, where Nitro trick the Team TLS out with their Air Dampening System, it absorbs shock and takes some of the slap out of heavy landings.

While the flex is pretty solid, it’s only really useful if it stays that way through the life of the boot. Nitro use an armoured spine to keep the rear of the boot intact and protect against high back abrasion and use a semi-articulated cuff to allow to boot to flex naturally forward, avoiding shell distortion which leads to your boot losing its flex.

TLS stands for Twin Lacing System and is a common thread throughout Nitro boots, it’s their own speed lace system with a dual zone tightening that locks in down the tongue, with special pockets to store the laces.
