Who Is The Nitro Beast x Volcom For?

It ain’t called the Beast for nothing…This is a no-nonsense snowboard that needs an experienced rider, otherwise it’ll take you for a ride instead. Freestyle focused, but able to take on various other terrain, if you like what the Nitro big dogs are up to then you’ll find a faithful friend here.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

As a dedicated park board, it makes sense that the Beast runs with a true twin outline. The ultimate in balance, predictability and allowing you to ride regs or switch at any time, there’s nothing quite as good for freestyle.

It may not be the most popular profile anymore, but there’s no denying that a full camber is the ultimate when it comes to explosive pop. Always preloaded with tension for extra dynamic feel whether you’re popping off a lip or pumping from edge to edge.

As a bonus it’s also one of the most stable platforms when you’re going mach 10 on the run in, provided you’re able to handle it of course. On the downside, it’s not as forgiving, but that’s the sacrifice you make to get the lively, classic camber feel.

Construction and Materials

While a camber might be an old school favourite, there’s nothing nostalgic about the tech that’s packed into the Beast. The poplar core is beefed up with beechwood stringers to add to the explosive feel, without picking up big weight penalties.

The core itself has been profiled with differing thicknesses, with extra juice in the nose and tail for max ollie power. Not content with this, Nitro have taken it several steps further with their additives. You’ve got carbon stringers running nose to tail, Kevlar reinforcement round the inserts, Urethane sidewalls to soak up chatter and finely tuned triax laminates for instant response.

“ It’s gonna go big, it’s gonna go hard, it’s not easy to ride, but if you can pull it off and tame the beast you’ll find something really special here”

Roundup

As we said earlier, this isn’t a snowboard for novices. It’s gonna go big, it’s gonna go hard, it’s not easy to ride, but if you can pull it off and tame the beast you’ll find something really special here.
