A look into next season, we’re frothing over these two new beauties from the Nidecker Snowboards 23/24 Biomimicry series. Aysm twins, these are creative shapes made for creative riders with some of the best base graphics we’ve seen in a while…
They are on an early limited release. Get one while you can. They’re currently in stock at the Nidecker store.
Here is the low down…
A true twin with a difference: the Gamma are symmetrical nose to tail but asymmetrical from edge to edge. As turns take more force to initiate on your heel edge, Nidecker have made this sidecut tighter than the toe edge, so whilst the board may look uneven, it actually balances your ride equally toe-to-heel, meaning it’s much easier to maintain control during frontside turns and carve. This is true both ways – great news for riders who love going switch.
Coupled with a positive profile for better carving control and more pop, the Gamma floats in the deep and holds its line on hardpack, both ways. First developed for the Alpha and Beta, Nidecker have brought over our 3D-shaped Evolution Spoon Nose, now on a twin shape for the first time.
The APX version comes with a faster, harder wearing N-9000 base and dual carbon stringers on either side of the core for more pop and reactivity, but what really sets it apart is the Nidactive APX edge technology. This places the core directly over the edge, which not only looks unusual, but actually increases the force you can exert from your bindings, making this an agile, adaptive and engaging riding experience.
