The Lady West is Never Summer’s answer to their notorious men’s West snowboard. However, the brand has decided to drop the West board from their line this year and replace it with a new version of it called the Never Summer West Bound. We can only wonder why Never Summer decided to do a women’s version of a board they’ve now left out from their line…
Rumour has it that there were quite a few upset ladies out there when Never Summer announced that the era of their well-known women’s board the Raven had come to an end. Well, the Lady West is here to make these specific ladies stoked again since it includes similar features as the Raven did.
“With rocker in between feet, camber underneath both back and front foot, and a longer nose, this board provides good edge hold, pop and a surfy feel”
Following in the traditional footsteps of Never Summer, the Lady West also takes a hybrid profile. With rocker in between the feet, camber underneath both back and front foot, and a longer nose, this board provides good edge hold, pop and a surfy feel.
This is a durable snowboard that can handle any fierce female ripper. It holds an edge solidly through the carves making turning easy and enjoyable. The core is a custom blend of different wood species and guarantees a durable stick. With the P-Tex sidewalls, which aren’t bothered by colder temperatures, you can be sure to bring this board with you to the northernmost hemispheres without needing to worry about them cracking.
The Lady West is an all-mountain board with float, speed and stability. Even if this board takes after its big brother, it has got a women specific design to it. A narrower waist, smaller sidecut radius, and a tailored flex pattern in the core, makes the Lady West more nimble than its male equivalent, and thus less power is required for getting those turns in.
