It’s never wise to call a run your last. If and when you do, you severely risk getting involved in freak skier accident, hitting a tree, busting out a harsh scorpion in the park or just generally finding yourself broken or concussed in a dark and dingy european hospital bed, with nout to do but feel sorry for yourself and watch crappy daytime TV. In French. Yes, it’s never wise to call last run.
However, when you’ve got the kind of board control that Scott Stevens and Bode Merrill have, the chances of this happening are significantly lowered. By no means are they immune from aforementioned freak injuries, but they’re just better at avoiding them. These are the last two runs from Scott, Bode and friends on a sunny day in Brighton, Utah. Whether they called it their last or not we don’t know – all that matters is that they did a lot of really creative mini-shred style snowboarding without really trying too hard and without getting banged up.
