Yep, you heard it here first folks – this summer, the world’s best cycle event is taking place in Hampshire.
Nelson’s Tour de Test Valley was set up by former editor of Snowboard UK, Marcus Chapman, in loving memory of the late Nelson Pratt – a pro snowboarder and keen cyclist. The event, which will raise money for the Campaign Against Living Miserably charity (combating suicides in young men), is all set to take place on the 7th September 2013.
With three routes (100 mile, 50 mile and 25 mile) to choose from, there’s something for all ability of cyclist and the tranquil Grately countryside, with it’s ‘testing climbs and sweeping descents’, will no doubt speak to your soul as well as your body.
We’ve just had word that Vans will be sponsoring the event and providing free pairs of Vans shoes for all those raising £300 or more. On top of that, the top three fundraisers for C.A.L.M. will receive prize bundles that include Vans snowboard boots, trainers, outerwear, Union bindings, hoodies, skate decks etc. etc. Pretty rad eh? And if you don’t manage to get to that magic £300 mark there’ll of course be a few bits and pieces in your goody bags.
And if that isn’t enough already there’ll be a steaming hot meal waiting for every rider at the finish line! As we said, the world’s best cycle event…
