Interesting video from Epic TV – 20 dog-handlers from the Haute-Savoie region go on mountain rescue training in Chamonix.
Apparently there’s about 100 dog-rescuers across France. Both handlers and their furry best friends go through vigorous training to ensure lives are saved.
The German Shepherds are taught to connect a toy with human scent, which is how they find buried avalanche victims. The breed are particularly good working dogs, the Army use them and you’ll see them next to that massive bloke with a gun at the airport.
