Canadian Max Parrot took his first-ever Olympic slopestyle gold medal at Genting Snow Park this morning, followed by China’s 17-year-old Su Yiming in silver and Canada’s Mark McMorris in third.

At the end of the first runs, it was defending slopestyle gold medalist Red Gerard who found himself in first place, followed by the 27-year-old Italian underdog Emiliano Lauzi in second, and Canada’s Max Parrot in third.

But Parrot and Su Yiming both secured their medal scoring points in the second runs. Su Yiming scored an 88.70 with a super technical and creative run, incorporating a front flip nose grab off the roof feature at the top of the course and a super clean frontside 1440, switch backside 1620, and backside 1800.
