Who ever said that dryslopes were ugly, lacking atmosphere and no substitute for the real thing? If edits like this one featuring Scottish plastic fantastic ripper Matt McCormick are any indication of what’s possible in a dryslope edit, we beg to differ. All you really need is a solid rider (Matt’s certainly got that one covered – he’s got a backside 1080 on dryslope ffs!), a couple of spotlights for a bit of atmosphere and some creative camera angles. But seriously, how tidy is this edit? It just goes to show that you don’t need heli’s, over the top cameras and a massive film crew to produce an engaging little piece of shred cinematography – heck, you don’t even need actual snow!
We always look forward to seeing more footage of Matt and we can’t wait to see where his snowboarding takes him in the future. With his training on the Junior GB Freestyle team already underway, it’s not out of the question that in a few years time we’ll be seeing him throw down with all the big guns – five rings looming overhead…
