With both Helgason brothers having pro models on Lobster (it’s their brand, after all), there’s no shortage of decent park sticks in the line-up. However, for the truly obsessive rail fiends out there, the Lobster Jib Board is perhaps still the go-to.

Last year the Lobster Jib Board got its most significant tweak in years, with a flat profile replacing the traditional camber. Of course, it’s not truly flat, as like all Lobsters it features Triple Base Technology.

This particular blend features a wider centrebase, so it can be pressed on ledges and boxes with ease, but the lifted side-base sections at each end make it far less likely (even compared to a standard flattie) that you’ll catch an edge on a rail and eat metal.

Elsewhere it’s got everything you’d want a good jibstick to have; soft flex profile, shorter sizing, biax fibreglass and a tough-as-nails extruded base. Fans of colour co-ordination can by it complete with matching Switchback bindings, but any pair that’s on the soft side will suit this.

You wouldn’t want to launch off the biggest booters in the park while riding this, but beech strips laid through the otherwise full-poplar core give you a bit more pop when you need to get up on a rail. Simply put, the Lobster Jib Board is for jibbin’.
