Blue boobs? It can only mean one thing – Lib Tech have let their talisman Jamie Lynn crack open the paintbox again. The Lib Tech Mayhem Jamie Lynn is a collab with his old buddy Matt Biolos, the shaper behind Lost Surfboards. It’s built for the powder, but doesn’t demand it.
“This is a specialist snowboard and no mistake, but there’s really nothing like it”
As you can plainly see, the Lib Tech Mayhem Jamie Lynn is short as hell – a mere 146cm. However, with a 28.6cm waist width, the total surface area is more akin to that of a traditional board. You get tons of float in the powder as a result, especially when you consider the setback stance that gives you plenty of nose and almost no tail.
Jamie has foregone Lib’s signature wavy Magne-Traction edges on this model, as if you’re riding it in optimum conditions you don’t need extra grip – just float! The mostly-camber profile can grip firmer snow, however, so you won’t feel all at sea when there’s no pow around. Despite the short length it’s been built for strength, so you don’t need to hold back in any conditions.
This is a specialist snowboard and no mistake, but there’s really nothing like it. If you know you’re going to be getting after the good stuff, preferably somewhere like Jamie’s regular haunt of Baldface Mountain, the Lib Tech Mayhem Jamie Lynn is definitely one to consider.
