Back in October we mentioned that the epic Morzine-based Le Paradis nightclub (which sadly shut its doors in 2010) was getting a full refit. And guess what? The ribbon is well and truly cut on the place.
If you’ve got a group of mates who want to hit the hill in style, but don’t want to get the hair-dryer treatment from their bank-managers, then you’d be hard-pressed to find a better spot in the Alps.
And what a place: Rude Chalets have fully renovated the upper floors of the building to create the Rude Lodge – a shred-ready hotel (well, Lodge) with single through to 6-person dorm rooms. If you’ve got a group of mates who want to hit the hill in style, but don’t want to get the hair-dryer treatment from their bank-managers, then you’d be hard-pressed to find a better spot in the Alps.
Add in the nightclub underneath with its Billy Jean 80s-inspired lit-up dancefloor and you’re looking at the ultimate sleep-destroying holiday. Top nosh too, and we stuffed our faces like wedding crashers as we were serenaded by some sweet apres-ski live music. The new owners of the lodge are from Ibiza, so expect chilled out vibes after a marathon dance-off if you’ve got the stamina and the inclination.
And naturally, with a crew of staff who know the Portes du Soleil area like the back of their (nightclub-inked) hands, you’ve got local knowledge on tap. Oh and it’s where all the seasonaires hang out too, so if you want to meet and impress the locals, then you’re in the right place. Here’s a masterclass in how not to do it.
