From the heydays of the Rossendale dryslope to the latest stunning performance in Sochi from Jenny Jones and the rest of Team GB – The Family Creative are putting together a film celebrating the British snowboard scene and it’s rich history
Great news! The Family Creative are putting together a film celebrating the British snowboard scene and it’s rich history – from the heydays of the Rossendale dryslope, through British seasonaires in the Alps to the latest stunning performance in Sochi from Jenny Jones and the rest of Team GB.
Whilst they’re cracking on with production this winter, they are asking for additional funding and support from you: the good people of the UK scene, which is why they have set up a Kickstarter campaign with a variety of perks.
We’re backing them all the way, so much so that even our dear leader Ed Blomfield stepped in front of a lens for their campaign video: “We’ve never had a movie that’s really told our story, that’s gone into the history, that’s explored the personalities – everything that makes the British snowboard scene special. That’s why I think this proposed movie is important.”

But it’s not just us – Lockdown masterminds Johno Verity and Adam Gendle plus Grindhouse gangbanger Jamie Durham are taking part, both providing valuable archive and brand new footage to tell the tale, plus their list of riders on board is pretty staggering.
From the streets to the park and way out into the backcountry they have the scene dialled, riders as diverse as Sparrow Knox, Jamie Nicholls and James Stentiford are all taking part. Check out the Kickstarter page again for the full list of names
.
Ten grand isn’t a lot considering the quality they’re aiming for (all in 4k for goodness sake!) – Paranormal Activity was filmed for about the same on a handycam and they didn’t even leave the house!
Help back this and immortalise something that’s oh so dear to all of us, the weird and wonderful thing that is British snowboarding. #OurKingdom
