Shape, Profile and Sidecut

The graphics aren’t the only throwback here, this shape harks back to the early days of snowboarding, when true twins were but a twinkle in the eye of freestylers across the globe.

Obviously, this shape lends itself to riding in deep snow, but add in the tapered outline, setback inserts and early rise rocker in the nose and you’ll be floating with ease whether it’s knee or nipple deep. The slight cutout tail once again reduces the surface area at the back of the board, helping to sink it down into the snow and keep the nose up and out.

Get the Apex on hardpack and you’ll have just as good a time, the tight sidecut will have you whipping through turns and slashing through trees, and the extra width through the body allowing you to get right up onto your edges without catching toes. By each set of inserts, Kemper have disrupted the sidecut to add an extra point of contact with the snow, lovely for gripping on corduroy and a lifesaver when the conditions are sketchy.
