Shape, Profile and Sidecut

Jones had a good old rummage in their tech toy box when designing the Dream Weaver. Whilst you can certainly ride the Dream Weaver in the park, we think it really excels in deeper snow. This is thanks in part to the directional camrock profile which gives increased lift in the nose, the 3D contour base further bevelling the edges for a spoon-like effect and the 2cm setback shifting your weight down towards the reduced-length tail. Add all of those together and you’ve got a snowboard that provides effortless float, so you can focus on ripping your next turn, not fighting to keep your nose up out of the snow.

Not only do the features make for a great snowboard in powder they also translate to a board that has super smooth turn initiation, a lively feel underfoot and added stability through your back foot when charging groomers. Jones’ Traction Tech adds extra contact points down the sidecut for increased traction, giving you some added confidence when the snow is sketchy or icy. It’s a real all-conditions snowboard.

Construction and Materials

Going fast isn’t the most important thing on a snowboard, but it can sure feel good, right? Jones uses their high-end Sintered 8000 base on the Dream Weaver to make sure if and when you do want to feel the wind in your hair, your base won’t be holding you back.

Friendly biax laminates sandwich a full poplar core for a predictable feel and a mellow ride when you’re not looking to push it, but retain a lively feel between the feet for great edge-to-edge response.

Jones are proud of their eco-credentials, and they should be. With the Dream Weaver they use a bio-plastic topsheet, recycled sidewalls and edges, plus bio-based epoxy in its construction.

There’s no denying the fact that Jeremy Jones knows how to design one helluva snowboard, he uses his decades of experience riding in some of the world’s gnarliest locations but this doesn’t mean you have to be bagging peaks in Alaska to enjoy what he’s bringing to the table. The Dream Weaver is case in point here, thanks to the forgiving shaping theory and mellow flex you’ll find a snowboard that’s just as at home snaking turns down a blue run as it is popping off pillows in a powder bowl.

“Not my usual fare, but there’s no denying the Dream Weaver is put together incredibly well. It feels really stable and solid at any speed, and even when it got a bit icy it still managed to bite and hold pretty well on its edge. I enjoyed the stability when pointing and shooting, there felt to be very little chatter, especially in the nose. Putting in turns was smoooooth, a really nice, almost rolly edge transition between the feet and the tail was stiff enough to hold through deep carves. All in all, if you want one snowboard to do it all then I’d reccomend.”
