Back in April, young boardercross rider Jamie Barrow broke the British snowboard speed record with a blistering speed of 151.6 kph – that’s faster than some cars are capable of driving!

The record was set on Verbier’s Mont Fort speed track which, as you’ll see from the video, is a ridiculously long, steep fall-line descent. Watch as Jamie absolutely tanks it down the face in this video from the day.

While there’s no way we’d ever know what it feels like to go that fast on a snowboard without trying it ourselves, Jamie’s POV footage and other shots at least go some way in showing how frickin’ terrifying it must be to point it straight down a run that steep.

And did anyone else notice the cheeky swig at 1:51? Is it an energy drink? Cola? Beer? We’d probably have to knock back a fair few whiskeys before even thinking about straight-lining that beast of a run…
