Think of Switzerland, think of snowboarding, and chances are you’ll be thinking of Laax. Considered the freestyle mecca of Europe, Laax plays host to some of Europe’s biggest riding names and brands – Nicolas Muller and the Korua clan, to name a few. So, when the train trundles into town for episode 4 of Holden’s The Glacier Express, the boys hop onto the platform and head up to the mountains.
Episode four sees Holden Outerwear explorers, Fredi Kalbermatten, Silvano Zeiter and Gray Thompson catch up with old friends and new at the legendary Sudden Rush Banked Slalom. Here is an event where the format is clearly placed on good vibes over gold medals. The latest episode takes a step away from the big mountain freeriding of the previous three instalments and, instead, shows how events like the Sudden Rush can bring an entire community together, both on and off the mountain. We even get to see Fredi K’s other talent in life – spinning records behind the decks at the after-party.
“Events like the Sudden Rush can bring an entire community together, both on and off the mountain”
We’ve been loving the Glacier Express series. Every episode showcases a different side to the culture, mountains and atmosphere of legendary Swiss resorts. After the Laax, the three amigos jump back aboard the train, and onto their final destination for the trip – St Moritz.
