GIRO Launches The Method Goggle

New goggles offer retro style and advanced performance at an affordable price

Nowadays, there’s a pretty stacked selection of goggles on the market to choose from , with shapes, sizes, colour-ways, technologies and budgets to meet anyone’s needs. Today, Giro Sport Design announced the launch of the Method – and it looks like it might just tick all of the boxes.

“The new Method goggles are driven by a desire to serve the needs of our athletes and core users—particularly those riding park and pipe,” says Giro Brand Manager, Travis Tomczak. “We set out to create a goggle that blends peak on-hill performance with immense personality. We’ve hit the mark with the Method, loading it with our best technology and offering it at an affordable price.”

Giro’s brand new model offers enough choice to suit most people’s tastes out there. It comes in eleven different frame/strap designs, with up to fourteen different lens configurations. For those who like to keep things matching, the goggles are Adapt Strap-compatible, meaning riders can personalise their look more than ever before, without the outlay of a completely new purchase each year.

That image distortion sometimes experienced in thermal-formed cylindrical lenses shouldn’t be an issue, either. The Method uses Giro’s injection-moulded cylindrical VIVID lenses with Optics by ZEISS, maximising clarity and contrast to suit the widest variety of conditions. Plus, with the Slash Seal lens interchange system, it will only take seconds to switch between the two included lenses sold with every model.

They’ve also utilised their EXV (Expansion View Technology), which features a massive spherical lens to provide maximum peripheral vision and an unparalleled field of view – perfect for spotting those landings out the corner of your eye.

An exclusive innovation to Giro, EVAK Vent Technology minimises fogging by realising moisture whilst simultaneously creating a barrier from the elements. Hopefully no need for a panic goggle wipe just as the gondola is reaching the top station (although the scratch-resistant coating should save your lens, should you ever find yourself needing to do so).

The Giro Method retails at $130 / £135 / €150 and will be available from Autumn, 2019.
