Russia, the host of the next year’s winter Olympics has a lot to prove. With the planned slopestyle test event earlier this year being cancelled due to a lack of snow, many remain apprehensive as to whether the country will be able to pull it off by the time next February rolls around. Will the weather be cold enough for a legit slopestyle course and halfpipe or will organisers be scrambling about like they were in Vancouver to ship in extra snow?
If the weather does turn out unseasonably warm, we reckon they should sack of the actual comps and have a mass naked/semi-naked snowboard event instead. They’ve already successfully run a test event and it looks like fun was had by all.
Just imagine thousands of scantily clad teams gently cascading down the slopes en masse, team flags high in the air and dodgy catsuits/onesies nowhere to be seen. The ratings would rocket, officials would be trading speedometers for speedos and the world would embrace it all with open arms.
Seriously though, only in Russia eh?
