Alright, look, we’re not here to fight. We just wanted to share some photos of next season’s Flow bindings. You’re welcome to peruse them at your leisure. You’re also welcome to close this tab down and go back to guilt shaming people strolling past your living room window for their second outdoor activity of the day. Many of our readers swear by the convenience, connectivity, durability and response of Flow bindings; others prefer more conventional systems. Okay, now that we’ve laid the foundations for a truce, let’s get back to the task at hand.
“Next season’s NX2 and Fuse bindings both feature the EXO-Kush straps, but the technology trickles down through Flow’s entire line”
For 2020/21, the big news from Flow comes with the new EXO-PowerStraps. These 3D moulded straps feature a top layer called the ‘ExoSpine’ which forms a direct connection with the ankles and toes, holding your boot firmly in place for direct energy transfer. Underneath the spine, you have the option of two types of main strap – the EXO-Frame or EXO-Kush. Varying slightly in their cushioning and response levels, they help to dissipate any unwanted pressure or hotspots whilst keeping the overall precision from boot to board up high.
Thes NX2 and Fuse bindings now both feature the EXO-Kush straps, but the technology trickles down through Flow’s entire line, with models such as the Fenix, Mayon, and Micron Youth also coming equipped with the EXO-Frame straps.
Most models are compatible with either the Fusion or Hybrid strap option, depending on your preference for a single piece style strap or one which connects the ankle strap to a more conventional separate toe cap.
Next season’s colourways will see a fair amount of earth tones, blacks and whites, but nothing quite as flamboyant as last season’s NX2. Take a look below to check out what’s to come and stay tuned for more in-depth reviews dropping in our 2020 – 2021 Buyer’s Guide later this year.
